Movie Theaters Changing Policies after Christmas Day Shooting

It was Christmas Day when police say shots were fired, injuring four people and hundreds of teens were seen hanging outside the building when it happened. Now, changes are being made.

Carmike Wynnsong Theaters management tells Local 15 News, beginning Feb. 1, anybody under 18 years of age will have to be accompanied by a parent or show identification to get into the theater past 8 p.m.

Earlier this month, managers, Mobile City Council members and law enforcement met to discuss the best way to control large crowds of teenagers at theaters.

Managers at the Daphne Carmike tell us as of now, they’re not planning on changing their policies.
