Gulf Shores Bans Alcohol

Gulf Shores has had enough of spring breakers drinking in their city.

After several news stories popped up this week featuring out-of-town spring breakers leaving trash all over Gulf Shores’ beaches, and even more stories that included several serious injuries due to alcohol consumption, Gulf Shores city council has banned all alcohol on its beaches effective immediately.

Gulf Shores mayor, Robert Craft claimed alcohol consumption was becoming a major problem.  Anyone that’s gone down to the beaches can clearly see that not only alcohol has been a problem; leaving trash everywhere has led to serious issues as well.

The ban on alcohol will remain in effect until April 17th.  Violators of the new ordinance can face a fine of $500 or six months in jail.
