Chief James Barber encourages the community to be more understanding

Police Chief James Barber urges the community to comprehend the most obvious concept in his newest press conference. He alludes to the fact that he wants the community to see situations from other people’s perspectives. Duh, that is the most basic idea for problem solving. This speech are responses to the recent arrest of Kenneth Padgett and shooting of Michael Moore.

Barber wants the community to take into consideration the perspectives of the police when they are approaching a crime scene. A person would think the police would follow their own advice and consider the feelings of the community as well. You would think if he’s handing out this A1 advice, the department would follow it their selves. In this press conference, he seems to want the community to be more understanding of what the police are going through in any given situation. He wants the community to be more sensitive to their thought process in highly stressful situations.

“When we learn to truly see each other, new understanding will begin,” Barber stated.
