Another Unarmed Man Shot

Cell phone video was just released of a Miami therapist who works with people with disabilities getting shot.

Police responded to a call of a person with a gun threatening suicide.  What they actually pulled up on was an autistic kid holding a toy truck talking with a therapist.  Police ordered the two on the ground and asked that they put their hands up.  The autistic boy was having trouble following directions and the therapist was attempting to diffuse the situation.  However, both the therapist and autistic boy did sit on the ground.  The therapist layed down on his back with his arms up in the air.  Police drew their firearms and while laying on the ground with his hands up, the therapist, Charles Kinsey, was shot in the leg.

The shooting was not caught on film, however, police are not saying his story was inaccurate.  North Miami Police have not released the officer’s name that fired the shot, or an update on their investigation.  However, they did say that the State Attorney is now involved with the investigation.

The victim, Charles Kinsey, is in the hospital and expected to recover from his gun shot.

The video below features the encounter with police but does NOT show Charles getting shot.
