ESPN claims Nike’s first self-lacing shoes will hit stores on December 1st and will cost $720. The Hyper Adapt shoes are modeled after the self-lacing Nikes in Back to the Future. Sports Illustrated quotes a Nike innovator as saying: “When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten. Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.” The shoes feature heels that light up when the laces are tightening.
Just CONFIRMED with NIKE. Hyperadapt 1.0 is NOT $1000. It is $720 releasing on 12/1. pic.twitter.com/eqcwybbRyN
