Billie Eilish Debuts Red Highlights and Talks Hit Song with Jimmy Kimmel Live! Billie Eilish was spotted leaving Jimmy Kimmel Live! in Hollywood on Tuesday (October 10). The 21-year-old singer showed off her eye-catching black tresses fire engine red roots.
During the show, she discussed her hit single, “What Was I Made For,” which she said came at a time of writer’s block for her and her brother, Finneas.
The talented duo thought about the Barbie character while writing. ‘That day, we were making stuff and were like, “We’ve lost it. Why are we even doing this?” said Billie.
‘And then those first chords happened, and “I used to float / now I just fall down” came out, and the song wrote itself,’ she continued. ‘I have the whole video of us writing the song; the first thing we wrote were those lines in the first 10 minutes,’ she said.
‘A couple of days went by, and I realized it was about me,’ she said. ‘It’s everything I feel. And it’s not just me — everyone feels like that, eventually.’
