BTS member V, who joined the ROK Army on December 11, 2023, made a brief public appearance at Chuncheon station in Gangwon-do on February 8 ahead of his assigned duties as a member of the military police special forces within the 2nd division.

V completed his five-week basic training and then entered the Army’s Comprehensive Administration School for an additional three weeks of instruction.

Most able-bodied men in South Korea must serve 18-21 months in the military. Athletes and classical artists who win prestige-related international competitions are exempt, but K-pop singers are not.
