Post Malone opened up about the criticism he faced early in his career for being labeled a “culture vulture” following the release of his hit track “White Iverson.”
The singer admitted that the accusations hurt him deeply, but he continued writing songs despite the backlash.
“It sucked,” he said.
“I was a kid.”
He also revealed that he dealt with it by drinking profusely.
During a 2018 performance, Malone addressed the critics, urging people to live their best lives and not let negativity affect them.
“There’s a lot of people that wanted to talk down on me, and laugh at me, and call me a ‘culture vulture,’ and say that I don’t appreciate hip-hop, that I don’t do nothing for the culture and I always say, congratu-fu__ing-lations, man,” said Malone.
