India has made history by landing a spacecraft named Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the moon joining only 3 other countries with having a successful moon landing mission.
The Indian Space Research Organization’s mission control jumped in excitement and with cheers when the unmanned spacecraft landed on the moon on Wednesday morning which took the team little more than a month long.
India now joins the U.S., Russia and China with successful spacecrafts landing on the moon however, the U.S. is the only one to do it with men on board.
The Indian Space Research Organization made this successful mission on a budget compared to others with the mission costing around $75 Million which is cheaper than a lot of Hollywood movies about going into space.
This mission was more than just landing on the moon as there was a discovery that ice was discovered on the south pole of the moon and now the spacecraft is looking to explore that area and could possibly lead to it being used as a fueling station in the future.
