Comedian Dave Chappelle is catching heat after criticizing the United States for backing Israel’s “war crimes” against Palestinians.

The remarks came during Chappelle’s live performance in Boston Thursday, prompting some audience members to walk out.

Chappelle condemned Hamas’ attack on Israel that left some 1,400 Israelis dead, but also blasted what he claimed were Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.

The whole thing reportedly started when a member of the audience told Chappelle to “shut up” after he said he didn’t think people should lose their jobs for supporting Palestinians.

A spokesperson for Chappelle said the comedian “denies being in Boston” that night.
