Selena Gomez’s ‘Rare Beauty’ Makeup Line Announces Donations To Palestinian Civilians

Rare Beauty, led by Selena Gomez, condemned Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Monday (November 6) and announced that it would donate to Palestinian relief organizations in response to the bombing that has killed hundreds of Palestinian civilians daily.

The message stated that Rare Beauty would donate to the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies, Magen David Adom, and Palestinian Red Crescent Society, which provide immediate care on the ground. “To provide critical medical aid and resources to Gazan children, we will donate to UNICEF,” the message stated.

Rare Beauty has denounced all forms of antisemitism and Islamophobia. The beauty line also encouraged readers to access mental health resources if needed.

The Rare Beauty post follows Gomez’s October 31 announcement that she would take a social media hiatus due to the “horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world” and that an Instagram post would not solve the Israel-Hamas war.

Should social media companies block images of war, or should the reality of war play out on social networks?
