DAPHNE, Ala. (WPMI) Daphne city officials will investigate a collapsed hole in the parking lot behind Zaxby’s after a parked Mack Truck began sinking Monday morning.
“We had a gentleman who had parked in the back for lunch and as he stepped out of the truck, it started sinking,” Restaurant Owner Hudson Sandefur said. “We’re grateful nobody was injured.”
Hudson said the restaurant has been open for 12 years and has never shown signs of poor infrastructure in the parking lot.
“We’ve had fire trucks, big vehicles parked out here and we’ve never had any problems,” he said.
Construction crews have put up a barricade near the hole and said it’s a safe distance from restaurant. Hudson said a thorough inspection will be conducted later on this week.
