Dauphin Island Spends over $7 million to Restore Beaches

 

Every year it seems that Dauphin Island has to spend an enormous amount of money to “restore” the beach after storms and tides wash away the ends of the island.

This year the mayor and Dauphin Island officials announced the completion of a $6.8 million construction project on the East end making this the largest beach nourishment in the island’s history.

So it begs the questions: Does this encourage tourism? And are they looking to get more Spring Breakers from the wake of the Gulf Shores alcohol ban?  Or will they ban alcohol on the beaches as well?  See more at the link below!
