If you post a lot of black-and-white photos online because you think they’re “artsy”, apparently your mental health is now in question . . . Researchers at Harvard and the University of Vermont recently surveyed over 150 people, and analyzed their Instagram photos. And they found that people who post photos with less vibrant colors are more likely to be DEPRESSED.
They ran a bunch of stats through an algorithm, and found people who suffered from depression symptoms posted photos that were bluer, grayer, and darker. And they were more likely to use the “Inkwell” filter, which is the one that makes photos black-and-white. People who WEREN’T depressed used the “Valencia” filter more often, which lightens photos.
