Back in 2001 Sid was working at a radio station in Saint Louis when 50 Cent himself stopped by to do an interview for the urban station (100.3 The Beat) in town.  The station I worked for (Z107.7) was a “sister station) of The Beat, which is basically radio talk that means we’re owned by the same company.

I sent one of my interns over to the Beat to ask 50 if he’d stop by and do an interview for us too. 50 said, “NO!”

I got mad because in my mind he should have spoken to our audience too considering they were also buying tickets to his show.  Well, karma bit 50 right in the rear!

When my producer went outside to grab something from her car she found a hotel key card to “The Westin in Saint Louis.”

I then called the Westin and asked if Mr. 50 was staying there.  Needless to say, he way.  We made sure to let the entire city know exactly where he was staying and that he’d LOVE to see so many fans from Saint Louis greet him at his hotel.  Which they did.

Here’s the article the tabloids wrote about the issue.  I won’t say that this story made me happy because someone stole something from Curtis.  HOWEVER, that my not have happened if he wasn’t so mean to me and my staff.  Enjoy!
